Fortunately, your supplier may not cut you off. Drinking water is a basic necessity of life.
Yet it can happen if you don't take steps in time. Keep in mind that a disconnection can quickly cost between €500,- and €1,000, -. Reconnection only takes place once the arrears and costs have been paid in full. You cannot arrange reconnection with another water company. You are bound to the water supplier in our region. He must:
- First send you a payment reminder at least three times (each time giving you at least fourteen days to pay the bill);
- Pointing you to the possibility of debt assistance from the municipality;
- Offering you a payment plan.

Ask your water supplier for a payment plan
Are you afraid your electricity or gas will be cut off because you haven't paid your bill?
If so, contact your energy supplier. Explain your situation and ask for a payment plan. You will then make arrangements on how to pay the bill, for example in parts. Use our sample letter of payment arrangement.
