Money Guide
You are about to turn 18 or have just turned 18
A special age, because a lot changes for you. You can decide and arrange all sorts of things for yourself from the age of 18, which gives you freedom.
To get you started, we have sent you the booklet "Money Guide Nearly 18". If you have not, you can pick up this booklet at the town hall or request it via the form. In it you will find an overview of matters you may have to deal with from the age of 18. What you need to arrange is:
- creating a DigiD (digital signature),
- An 18+ bank account and savings account in your own name,
- Your own health insurance (can also be through your parents),
- applying for a care allowance in your own name (if you are entitled to it),
- Obtaining your own liability insurance, if necessary.
This booklet tells you how to do this. You will also find information about earning money and handling money. Avoid getting into debt. Read what to watch out for. Prevention is better than cure.
Can't figure it out yourself? Then go to people in your immediate area for help. Or make use of organizations in our municipality that can help you with questions about these topics. And can help you if you find yourself in a difficult situation. You are not alone, especially in difficult times. Asking for help costs nothing!
